SADSAC: AGM 24 August

The weather was looking rather menacing as the members assembled in Sale for the pre-AGM ride.
As 10 am approached I was hoping for a quick departure but was delayed by George's last minute flat tyre. As we headed off the weather was almost a sprinkle. We had around ten riders, some have ridden from their homes in Sale but one, Denis, had come from further afield. I had planned to do around 30 km if the conditions behaved themselves. The route, however, did allow for track shortening if required. As it turned out that was the case and we ended up with around 20 km on the speedos by the end.
This meant that lunch was a bit early but after some procrastination the BBQ was lit and the midday meal was prepared. We did manage to get some extras for the lunch and meeting with Bridie and Graham, Phillip and Shirley and Betty joining us. Cathy was on hand to entertain them during the ride.
Once the gathering had eaten all they could, the desert table was still substantial, the official part of the day was commenced. The actual details will be covered in the minutes but the meeting was conducted in a pleasant atmosphere with many different views expressed. There were no significant changes to the fees or rules but some items were tidied up. The decision on the weekend away was less clear with three possibilities up for the vote. The most popular choice, Walhalla, was the only one without any plan. Shirley had put some time into Buchan and Dargo. With time running out a large number of phone calls will need to happen if the weekend is to happen at all. We might end up going to Buchan after all.
The assembled were very kind to myself and Ann and this made this difficult day much easier.
I advised that the blog will continue until the end of the year. Whether someone wishes to continue with it next year was uncertain.
The photos taken on the day were all at the meeting, I was somewhat preoccupied on the ride.
